Pre-Workshops

Here are details about the pre-workshops that will be held in the morning of Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Future editions of this information will be available from the Alaska Wind-Diesel Applications Center Web site.

Wind-Diesel 101

This 4-hour course covers the basics of wind-diesel power systems, including power systems technology and some examples of current hybrid power systems. This introductory short course is targeted to those with little or no experience in wind-diesel power systems. The session provides enough knowledge to people who are new to wind-diesel applications to enable them to take an active role in the Wind-Diesel Workshop. The pre-workshop is free, but registration is required.

Wind-Diesel — Advanced Topics

This course is offered concurrent with Wind-Diesel 101. Check back for more details.

Wind-Diesel — Modeling

This course describes computer models such as HOMER and Hybrid2. Check back for more details.
