Discussion
The North American Wind Research and Training Center at Mesalands Community College provides both a 1.5-megawatt wind turbine and a new 26,000 square-foot facility for associate degree training for wind energy technicians and applied research.
The Wind Center hosts cutting-edge research programs in collaboration with Sandia National Laboratories of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and with major universities including, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Washington University in St. Louis, and the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, New Mexico.
In addition, the College offers short courses in workforce development and industry-driven customized training.
