Matt Bult and Matt Hein of the Wind Application Center at South Dakota State University and Steve Wegman of the South Dakota Wind Energy Association provided educational and technical support. The South Dakota Wind Application Center is also providing curriculum. Power generated from the turbine will assist in supporting the electricity for parking lot lights and a greenhouse.

Students from Mitchell Technical School installed the turbine, supervised by the Wind Application Center director, with support from Miller City Electric Department. Wessington Springs School District and Heartland Power Consumer District funded the installation.
