The Western Wind and Solar Integration Study Phase 2: A Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach Webinar

Greg Brinkman presented the results of the Western Wind and Solar Integration Study (WWSIS), Phase 2. This study, which follows the first phase of WWSIS, focuses on potential emissions and wear-and-tear costs of cycling fossil-fueled generators in scenarios with high penetrations (up to 33%) of wind and solar generation. Brinkman is a member of the Energy Forecasting and Modeling Group in the Strategic Energy Analysis Center at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
