Date: 12/6/2011

A report and presentations from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management's Atlantic Wind Energy Workshop are now available. In addition, workshop discussions resulted in the following three study profiles being developed and approved for 2012 as part of the Bureau's Environmental Studies Program:

  • "Developing Protocols for Reconstructing Submerged Paleocultural Landscapes and Identifying Ancient Native American Archaeological Sites in Submerged Environments"
  • "Atlantic Offshore Wind Energy Development: Public Attitudes, Values, and Implications for Tourism and Recreation"
  • "Building a Database to Assess the Relative Vulnerability of Migratory Bird Species to Offshore Renewable Energy Projects on the Atlantic OCS"

The Bureau is planning another workshop in 2012 to identify additional data gaps and expand on those already identified.
