Discussion:

The Hoosac Wind Project remains the subject of legal appeal. Hearings on the appeal of the project's DEP permit were held in Superior Court in August 2008 with a decision expected in late 2008 or early 2009. Additionally, in August 2008, the project received a wetland permit (known as an Order of Conditions) from the Town of Monroe related to its transmission line and interconnection (separate from the wetland permit necessary for the main project site). The permit was not appealed. In late August, developer Iberdrola Renewables filed for the same permit from the Town of Florida. Finally, in August the project also received its Certificate of Public Good from the EFSB. Iberdrola is not expected to have trouble securing turbines and maintains a target for commercial operation in 2009.
