Discussion:

This turbine — installed in Spring 2006 — is the first in Massachusetts to be owned by the Commonwealth. The project was funded by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and the Department of Capital Asset Management. It is expected to displace more than 25% of the Academy's electricity purchases. The turbine became fully operational October 1, 2006.
