Discussion:

Project construction commenced in mid-2006 and the turbines were installed in December 2006 and January 2007.

The project is located on a ridge with several cell towers and a small ski area. While the project is located in the Northern Maine Independent System Administrator territory, most of its energy and Renewable Energy Certificates are being sold into ISO-New England territory for consumption by New England customers.

Since the project began operating in early 2007, some of the nearest abutters have raised questions and concerns about turbine sound levels. Project owner UPC Wind is conducting sound monitoring studies, the results of which are not yet available.
