Discussion:

In August 2008, the Princeton Municipal Light Department broke ground for the installation of two 1.5-MW Fuhrlander wind turbines to replace the eight 40-kW machines that had been in operation on the southwest side of Mount Wachusett since 1984. Site preparations were completed during fall 2008 and the turbines arrived in the summer of 2009. Princeton erected the turbines in October 2009, and the Princeton Municipal Light Department Wind Farm became operational in mid-November. The Princeton Municipal Light Department Wind Farm is expected to provide an average of 40% of the town's annual load.
