The Tennessee Anemometer Loan Program began in March 2005. Through a grant from the Tennessee State Energy Office and the Department of Energy's Wind Powering America Program, the program has purchased its first 30-meter anemometers. The purpose of this program is to help develop a better understanding of the wind resources in Tennessee and to provide information to interested land owners about the viability of producing electricity with residential-scale wind technology on their property. The Web site has information about each location where an anemometer has been installed. Many of which have photos, videos, and data.
