NREL published Estimated Economic Impacts of Utility-Scale Wind Power in Iowa, a report that examines the first 1,000 megawatts of wind energy deployment in Iowa and associated economic impacts. This deployment supported 2,300 full-time-equivalent jobs over the 1999-2008 period, and 270 ongoing, annual jobs to date. It also supported nearly $290 million in gross economic activity for Iowa during the construction period and approximately $38 million per year during the operating period.
