Location: IL
The Center for Renewable Energy at Illinois State University prepared the report, Illinois Wind Farms and Growth, with funding from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The report summarizes why companies choose Illinois as their headquarters and global destination for foreign direct investment: transportation and infrastructure, being the Midwest's capital for commerce and trade, its well educated and highly trained workforce, and thriving research and development community.
The report also highlights Illinois incentives for proposed wind manufacturing facilities and wind farms; community and economic development associations; supply chain companies in Illinois; wind projects and wind resources; economic impacts; and state renewable energy policy.
