This workshop focused on providing education and addressing issues/opportunities on all renewable energy technologies. Wind Powering America of the Department of Energy's Seattle Regional Office and Denver Regional Office supported this event.

Wind Powering Montana

Date: 10/3/2001

Location: Big Sky, MT

The workshop covered issues of wind technology status/economics, Montana wind resources, Montana wind projects, transmission/utility integration, state policies, environmental issues/siting, rural economic development, landowner perspectives/leases, small wind applications, and irrigation. Two hundred to 300 attendees attended including representative from the Governor's office, state legislators, ranchers/farmers, utilities, rural coops.
