Presented by the Utility Variable-Generation Integration Group (UVIG), this 1-day workshop will answer questions about interconnecting wind and solar generation to electric distribution systems and provide insight regarding the technical concerns about such distributed generation applications. The workshop will provide an overview of wind and solar interconnection requirements and answer many frequently asked questions. The primary focus of the workshop is a hands-on introduction to UVIG's Internet-based tools developed to assess a distributed solar or wind project's impact on the local distribution system. Training will cover the theory behind each tool and demonstrate its use with actual data. The use of other free software tools will also be covered. Continuing education credit (0.7 CEU or 7 PDH) will be available for this workshop.
